Can't Come Back - Chapter 22
Yes… melodee picked this novel up. happy reading!
“Haah…, aah…”
Berlia, who was sitting on the sofa, was exhausted. Cain felt a constriction in his lower body as he looked down at her.
No other lady could arouse Cain in the same way. There was just Berlia. He was too taken with her. He wanted to make her his, but he was irritated by his inability to articulate his affections for her. Cain knew it was selfish to want her body when he couldn’t have her heart, but he couldn’t break up with her. He couldn’t let go of her once he’d had her in his arms, no matter how twisted their connection was.
Cain climbed over the weary Berlia on the sofa. He suckled roughly on the area around her nipple, bending his head.
“Ahh…!”
Cain’s lips left a scarlet imprint wherever they went. Cain kept leaving his imprints on Berlia’s chest, stomach, and waist. He wanted his traces to cover every location that might be concealed by a garment.
He wanted to say something. That nothing stood between him and Claudia. He wanted to make sure she didn’t get it wrong. Cain, however, was unable to utter those words.
Because no matter what he said, no matter how blatant the mistake was, nothing could change their connection. All Berlia needed from him was someone to console her on lonely nights while his brother was away.
“Uh…!”
Her whole skirt was turned around. Cain hurriedly yanked Berlia’s undergarments off. Her private parts were on display. The skirt of her magnificent blue gown was elevated, while the top was dropped and hung about her waist.
Cain pointed to Berlia’s private section. A quick caress had already soaked it. Cain unbuckled his pants and removed his engorged penis from the prison it was in. He stroked a few times against Berlia’s vagina, then rotated his hips slowly to entrance himself gently.
“Hmph!”
“Heuk.”
Cain then began to move. He pulled Berlia’s legs around his waist and parted her thighs.
‘Am I merely a stand-in for Her Highness?’
“Aah, aah…!”
Berlia’s body was faithfully governed by pleasure, despite her unhappy sentiments. The little room was filled only with breathing and the squelching sound of flesh clashing.
‘Her Highness is a noble person… that someone should be treasured because she’s nice.’
“Uuh, ah! Cain…!”
Berlia clasped her left hand around the leather of the sofa. Her grasp was so firm that it was difficult to tell whether her nails or the sofa leather would snap first. Despite the fact that she was Claudia’s replacement, Berlia couldn’t keep Cain from entering her.
‘Am I… merely someone to fulfill his desires? If that’s the case, why me?’
“Hah! Ah, ah!”
There were a lot of blonde women. Cain has seen a slew of blonde women. She was perplexed as to why it had to be her.
Berlia would not recruit a maid for the mansion if her hair was even slightly blonde. She was the only one of the aristocratic blonde ladies in Hildayden.
“Huh, ahh!”
Perhaps that’s why. Perhaps because she was a handy presence, someone who could satisfy his cravings whenever he wanted at home. But she couldn’t ask him no matter what. She was concerned that if something went wrong, their relationship would come to an end. Berlia treasured even a single moment with him.
‘With these memories of this month, I shall survive through a dreadful marital life of nearly thirty years.’
“Huhuk…!”
Berlia sobbed as the climax approached, her head flung back. Her tears poured from her eyes to the back of her ears as she lay down.
She hoped Cain would interpret her tears as happy tears.
It was midnight, and the banquet was still in full swing. It was an uncommon occasion for an imperial palace feast. As a result, it was an excellent chance for them to meet acquaintances they would not otherwise meet. Perhaps this is why so many nobility chose to stay rather than return home. The crown prince of the Notium Empire, Harkarton Notium, was among those aristocrats strolling around, looking for someone.
He looked around, but there was no sign of the person he was looking for. Then he noticed Claudia, his sister.
“Sister, where did Sir Cain go?”
“Harkarton, why are you always looking for Cain?”
“Because he’s hard to meet, isn’t that why?”
“It must be because you, the crown prince of the empire, have not even taken a single concubine, let alone a crown princess, by the age of 22, that rumors circulate that you are in love with Cain, or that you are actually into men.”
Claudia admonished him in Harkarton’s tone. By one year, his younger brother had become 22. He was the crown prince when he was still a child. The emperor and empress also desired that he marry.
Harkarton, on the other hand, had no interest in women and only pursued Cain.
In the realm of royalty, rumors circulate rapidly. There were several false rumors. Those who had nothing to do were more likely to be interested in the concerns of others.
The majority of Cain and Harkarton’s contemporaries were of marriageable age. While there was a broad range of marital ages in the empire, most individuals married before the age of 25.
Cain was not misunderstood since there were rumors that he was meeting blonde ladies. Harkarton was the issue. There was even a bizarre rumor that the crown prince liked Cain and was working behind the scenes to prevent his marriage.
“Do you think I’m interested in rumors? So, where has Cain gone?”
“I am very concerned about the empire’s future. Cain has returned home.”
Claudia let out a single sigh. Then, with a sly grin, she informed him that Cain had already departed.
“What, already?”
Harkarton cast a skeptical glance, but Claudia’s demeanor remained unchanged.
“He said he was tired and leaving, so you should stop looking for him.”
“I had something I didn’t get to ask him, which is unfortunate. So, I guess I should go back to my room.”
Harkarton turned and walked out of the dinner hall. Claudia sighed as she saw her brother go away.
‘I’m curious whether my academy classmate is aware that I assisted him twice today.’
It would be bad if Harkarton had gone around poking about the area looking for Cain and discovered Cain and Berlia. There could be no positive gossip if the sister-in-law and younger brother were discovered alone in a little room.
Claudia observed the direction Cain and Berlia vanished after she had sent Harkarton away.
‘What could they possibly be doing now?’
Her guess was that they would be in an inner restroom. She wasn’t sure if Cain explained it to her as a misunderstanding or if he simply put his sentiments onto her.
Even with the excuse of becoming her brother-in-law, he wouldn’t be able to confess to her if he was anything like his regular personality.
‘What’s the point of trailing her like that? If you don’t say anything, nothing changes.’
Claudia was dissatisfied. Berlia’s look on Cain was unusual in her opinion. She had purposefully teased them in order to watch Berlia’s reaction.
Berlia’s face darkened whenever she crossed her arms at Cain or made a marital jest. It wasn’t a woman looking at her brother-in-law.
‘Well, whether they like one other or not, it’s not my business to interfere,’ she says.
Claudia believed there was nothing she could do if the two of them had a falling out, no matter how regretful it was. Cain and Berlia appeared to be related. It was a difficult connection to find.
‘Regardless of how close we are, the imperial princess cannot openly support an adulterous relationship. It’s a pity.’
Claudia, on the other hand, was confident of one thing.
‘Even so, I don’t think Cain will give up on her easily.’
From the ages of 14 to 17, the empire’s nobility attended the school. Cain has been Claudia’s friend for ten years.
Claudia remembered Cain Hildayden as a rational and decent man. That’s why she was taken aback. It was enthralling. Cain had never shown her such a side in the ten years she had known him. He did not have extreme mood swings. He wasn’t the kind to lose his cool or become enraged just because she mocked him.
‘To think that even Cain might lose his cool and pursue a lady.’
She giggled at the revelation of her friend’s unexpected side.
‘And even requested such a thing.’
Claudia had approached Harkarton and Cain, who were conversing, shortly after the feast began.
“Harkarton, are you going to follow Cain to every event he attends?”
“It’s none of your concern. We’re in the middle of an important discussion, so please return later.”
“Oh, you’re such a grump. Is it alright for the empire’s crown prince to be this way? Be more composed.”
“I say that because you’re disturbing us.”
Cain’s attention temporarily shifted away from Harkarton and Claudia’s conversation. Claudia moved her sight away from her brother invisibly. Berlia was at the end of his stare. Lady Bland and Lady Andear were nearing Berlia.
They were talking between themselves. Even from a distance, Berlia appeared to be in a terrible predicament.
Cain, on the other hand, found it uncomfortable to immediately assist her. If the other party had been a guy, he would have left right away, but the persons bothering Berlia were ladies.
Then, asking Claudia, who was in front of him, to assist Berlia was the best option to manage the matter easily.
“Claudia.”
He spoke quietly to Claudia. Their gazes locked. Claudia realized at a distance why he had contacted her. She nodded in agreement.
“All right, okay. I’ll vanish, the disrupter that I am. Enjoy your time with Cain, Harkarton.”
“Good. So, Lord Cain, I’ve heard that emeralds may be uncovered in the mines this time…”
Her ignorant younger brother resumed the conversation, bringing up another subject with Cain.
Claudia then assisted Berlia, who was in an awkward circumstance. Claudia had a nasty sensation for Cain as she looked at Berlia, who was thanking her.
‘He finally fell in love, but he can’t even admit it.’
If the elder brother dies, a brother takes his brother’s widow as his wife in the Tasilbron Kingdom, which borders the Notium Empire. Claudia instantly remembered and was happy that the empire did not use the same approach.
‘If, by chance, my father tries to adopt such a system, shouldn’t I stop him?’
Otherwise, the Duke of Hildayden may suffer an unfathomable accident.
