Doctor Resignation - Chapter 1

“This is all due to the fact that the little duke, Erhan, passed away!”

“If only His Grace Erhan had inherited the Duchy……”

“Then, the crazy Wederick won’t betray the Dukedom of Casseus.”

The murmurs from the prisoners next door were heard.

Half a year ago, the Dukedom of Casseus lost its legitimate heir, Erhan Iliad Casseus.

After becoming an adult, he couldn’t get up from his bed and had to restrain himself from taking the Duke’s title. Unfortunately, he died due to ailments and hasn’t been meritorious as an apparent heir.

The new successor of the Dukedom falls to Erhan’s cousin, Frederick Vicedar.

I answered bluntly as there was nothing wrong with my nonchalant reply.

“I was punished to be hanged suddenly and I am going to die because I save people from dying. I can’t even run away with the two other dying doctors.”

The old lady had a big smile as she approached me.

“You are a doctor?”

I stared at her with a suspicious look on my face.

If you are one of the residents of Casseus Dukedom, there is no way you wouldn’t be able to recognize a genius like me.

It was obvious that she is s foreign.

“So you are a doctor? It will be such a waste for you to die.”

“You think so?”

Then, the old lady asked me with anticipation in her eyes,

“I am tired every day because of the sudden headache. Do you know what am I supposed to do?”

“Give me your hand.”

I was destined to be executed tomorrow at once, but with a sense of duty as a doctor, I took the old lady’s hand and started to examine her.

“This is a pain caused by the collision of mana in your body. Have you ever accepted other people’s mana recklessly? It is also mana with great power.”

This isn’t a common disease. The old lady widened her eyes after hearing my question.

“Oh my, how did you know? No one knows about this including the other doctors……”

“I am the most intelligent doctor in this territory.”

I continued to speak with a feeble voice.

You told me to say anything, but it was just empty talk.

I don’t know what to say anymore since I am going to die tomorrow.

So I said without any sincerity.

When I came to my senses after the deep conversation with the old lady, I was back in my thirteen-year-old body.

I blinked several times in front of my reflection.

A girl with brown bobbed short hair and green emerald eyes standing there with an absurd face.

Is this what the old lady’s meant by another chance to live?!

I should run away from the orphanage and get a job.

I am now still a doctor, I’m going to find a job so I can go anywhere.

Teacher Elbern who treated me as his sister also came in.

I couldn’t say that my mental age is 19 years old with full medical knowledge.

A child looked at me with suspicious eyes.

Viscount Arga Eitte Perelman is the Chief Physician in Casseus Duchy and was a very competent politician.
