Doctor Resignation - Chapter 15
‘I think I’ve given Jenny enough clues, but why hasn’t Perelman given me his lab?!’
Erhan and I were having a snack in the garden. Feeling anxious, I sat down biting my nails. Perelman will leave this territory soon.
I was giving Erhan some nutritious milk when someone suddenly approached us politely.
“You are Miss Lise, right?”
He is a tall man with light pink hair. He gave me a very gentle and polite impression.
“Yes, that’s right.”
“Master Perelman has sent me to you. I heard that you prefer older friends.”
When did I…..?
When I was about to ask him back, Erhan held my hand tightly. His midnight black eyes trembled, giving off an air of coldness.
“Oh, have you finished your meal, Master? I have to chat with this guy for a bit.”
I took the glass from his grip and looked back at the man with one hand still tightly gripped by Erhan.
“Sir Perelman sent me a friend?”
No, I think I gave him a hint about something I really wanted. Why did he suddenly send me something useless?
“Greetings miss, my name is Diel Molekin. I have worked with Sir Perelman for a long time. My lord can vouch for my intelligence and I am eighteen years old.”
I was about to say that I don’t need friends but Diel continues his introduction. “I was appointed by Sir Perelman to build your private laboratory with full dedication.”
“Can I just use his lab?”
“He wanted to build a private research space with colorful and spacious rooms for you.”
I just want to use his lab, but he’s going to make me a new one instead?
The scale of the use of the rich’s money is different from that of the poor.
I am a commoner, so I never thought of having my own lab.
Of course, I have no complaints about building a new private lab for me. Just thinking about it made me smile at Diel. His summer blue eyes continue to amaze me.
“Then I’ll leave it to you.”
“I have received the Duchess’ permission. Would you like the lab to be inside the Greenhouse?”
“Sounds great.”
“Then I will proceed with the interior, furniture, and some necessary laboratory equipment, miss.”
“You must have gone through a lot of trouble.”
“This is my job,” he said with a shrug. His gentle innocent smile caught my attention.
“And of course, I got hired because you need a smart friend of about nineteen.”
“Well.”
“I’ll contact you after we’re done discussing plans to build the lab on the greenhouse site.”
“Sure.”
Since Perelman sent him to me, he must be very intelligent and dedicated to his job.
I nodded happily. Initially, I heard that Perelman workers are perfect when it came to work.
It was possible for a high-ranking official to collect huge profits even while he was busy looking for his daughter.
Diel left after he politely bowed toward Erhan.
The thought of expensive laboratory equipment made me hum in joy. Suddenly, I could feel my back stinging like a sharp needle stabbed, as if someone was staring at me from behind. When I turned around,
“Master Erhan?”
He looked at me with an intense gaze.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable? Are you sick?”
“……no.”
His black eyes narrowed for a moment before they suddenly became sharp.
“Do you need a friend, Lise?”
“Sorry?”
“A smart friend around nineteen?”
I’m a little nervous to answer his serious question.
“Well…… I don’t really need friends. But it’s true that an intelligent friend of around nineteen is a match for me.”
Erhan holds my hand tightly after hearing my answer. That’s pretty strong.
“Why does that friend have to be nineteen years old?”
Because it’s technically my mental age……
I tried to free my hand from his tight grip, feeling confused.
“If that friend is older than me, maybe we can communicate more easily?”
“So……”
I froze at his glistening dark irises. Surprisingly, those eyes were similar to those of the Duchess when she was angry.
“Do you like that man, Lise?”
“That man……”
I tilted my head while thinking about Diel Molekin’s impression.
Obviously, he’s a stranger to me. He still has nothing to do with me so I’m a bit confused answering Erhan’s question.
Feeling a tight grip on my hand, I immediately changed the subject. “By the way, Master Erhan. Can you let go of my hand?”
“Lise is my best person.”
“Correctly.”
“But do you need a friend?”
“It’s nice to have friends, but I don’t need them.”
“Am I not your friend, Lise?”
“Sorry?”
I finally managed to get my hand out of his grip and my eyes opened wide at his sudden question.
“You are a noble and the rightful heir of the Casseus Dukedom. I’m just an ordinary person. Friend? That’s nonsene.”
When I explained so, disappointment flashed across his face. Seeing that, I naturally fed him a strawberry.
“We’re more than just friends.”
“……really?”
“Of course.”
Frederick will be back soon.
I spoke decisively and couldn’t help but be wary of his arival soon.
“More than just friends and could be more than blood relations….., that’s our relationship.”
“Promise?”
“Yes.”
I nodded after seeing his reaction.
“You shouldn’t have changed, Master Erhan.”
“Yes but……”
Erhan muttered under his breath and lowered his head.
“I want to grow tall.”
Oh my God!
I really want to scream as loud as I can right now!
“I want to be smart.”
‘That is a good idea!’
I can’t express how I feel right now, but I want to cry tears of joy.
“Even if I wasn’t nineteen yet, I would act to be nineteen.”
His grumpy way of talking is very cute.
I never thought he was cute when I saw his as a child before I returned to the past, but now that I see his long eyelashes and soft cheeks, I can’t help but laugh.
Maybe because I raised him even for a while?
Even his pouting and childish expression as if he couldn’t stop himelf from wanting something was cute.
“Then just do as I say.”
I gave him another strawberry because the fruit is known to be good for aiding growth. But I also didn’t forget to give him some bitter vegetables.
Erhan, who was annoyed that he hated bitter food, took the vegetables without complaining.
“Eat the foods I recommend, exercise harder, and get a good night’s sleep on time. Also, you need a more professional person to work out with.”
“I don’t need anyone but Lise.”
“I know, but the Knights will be more helpful than me if you want to get tall and strong faster.”
“Then what about being smart?”
“Of course, it’s not enough to read a few books with me at night.”
I have a lot of medical knowledge, but I don’t know much about aristocratic culture.
So this is something that should be entrusted to an expert like a private tutor.
“It would be nice if you had a tutor to help you understand all the books you read.”
Erhan is smaller than me, so it’s funny to see him tilt his head – perhaps considering my suggestion – and I feel sorry for him for giving me his affection so easily.
Looking at him pouting his red lips, I swallowed a triumphant smile.

A few days later, Perelman set out for Irvia to look for his daughter.
“I’ll be back in three months.”
“Okay.”
The Duchess nodded as if it didn’t matter.
“I hope you will find your daughter and travel safely.”
Usually, the Duchess expressed her discomfort and disapproval of him, asking him to come back sooner.
But this time, she didn’t show any desperation and instead stroked my brown hair.
“I have Lise here.”
The Duchess had never personally escorted Perelman like she did today. Surprisingly she looked so much better after I gave her a few prescriptions.
That’s because I added the recipe a little more detail than Perelman did.
“Good luck with your journey.”
Erhan who took my hand also said goodbye.
The little skinny boy looked much fuller after he ate and slept well. The changes are quite noticeable because he is still young. Of course, his weight is still reasonable for children his age.
“Send a messenger if anything happens. I will be right back. It’s only natural that some mistakes happen.”
“Yes, sir.”
I nodded at his firm advice.
“Have a safe trip.”
“What are you talking about?”
Perelman frowned after hearing my sincere wish.
“You must take me to the harbor.”
“Sorry?”
“You’re my assistant, Lise.”
Seeing me confused, Erhan stepped forward.
“But an assistant never—”
“There’s something I want her to do,” Perelman said. “Follow me with Diel. Let’s stop by some grocery stores on the way.”
The construction of my laboratory on the greenhouse site was well prepared under Diel’s command.
Diel who was standing beside Perelman smiled gently as he reached out to me.
“I think my master would like to give you a present, Miss Lise. Let’s go together.”
“Stop talking, Diel. Do you know how to choose laboratory equipment? I’m coming because I don’t trust you.”
“Oh, of course.”
It’s not too bad to buy some lab equipment using Perelman’s money.
‘I’ll pick the most expensive one I can get.’
I turned to Erhan who was still holding my hand tightly and spoke softly. “I’ll be right back, Mister Erhan.”
“……okay.”
Erhan lowered his gaze as he let go of my hand.
His black eyes carefully looked at Diel warily before they started to stare at me again
“I’ll trust you, Lise.”
‘……what?’
