His Sun, My Moon - Chapter 3.2
Chapter 3.2
When I closed my eyes, I felt like I was floating… I was falling after that.
I was about to freak out and use my powers when a cold ray of light made me open my eyes. I was met by a wide…a very wide plain of land. I was lying on tall grass that had dried out and didn’t feel itchy at all.
‘How do I know if some kinds of grass will make me itch?’
I stumbled when I tried to stand up… I fell down, and it took me a few tries to get up.
“HOOH!” I yelled.
Some dirt and dead leaves were stuck to my dress. I pucker my lips and put my hands up in the air to do air magic.
“Huh?” My hands didn’t do anything magical. I tried twice, even three times, but nothing worked.
I went back to check out the area… First of all, where I woke up is a big land. I need to know where to go before I can start looking.
“A goddess who doesn’t know that magic can’t be used here by anyone from Riverside? That’s something new.” I jumped when I heard a voice that seemed to know what I was going through.
“Who—” I stammered to ask. He knew me and all of us! A regular person knew I was a goddess. What kind of thing is going on?
“Hi, I’m Jace… Herondalle. Lupita, I know that God, and he told me that you’ll be here soon. I’ve been here waiting for a long time.” He gave me a cold look.
‘Did I say something wrong?’
Jace’s face isn’t too bad-looking. He seems to be tall and has almost the same vibe as Adustio… I don’t know why they both have the same feeling.
“What do you know about him?” I asked him. The man just looked at me and said, “Follow me.” I sigh and do it because, hey, he waited for me and seemed to know me.
“I don’t think you need to know how I met the god or how I got to know him… please don’t ask these kinds of questions.” My face turned red.
He also helped me brush off the filth in my white dress which I’m quite grateful for.
Even though he’s rude, he’s not wrong. I shouldn’t ask questions that don’t matter.
“Don’t you recognize me? Why are you talking to me like that—”
I’m used to them acting like this, and I know what I did wrong, but he’s so rude to the goddess who gives him the power of the moon! In a way, he’s dead if I’m not there.
“I know who you are: you’re the goddess Selene. But you’re in my world right now, and I don’t think you can change my life directly because, well, you don’t have the power to.”
‘Right… I can’t get back at him, even if I wanted to, because I’m not a Seraphim.’
“It doesn’t justify your bad beha—”
“Get in… I don’t care about you or what bothers you… Here, you are a person.”
“How do I?” I took a look at the strange-looking chariot in front of me. It’s black and shiny, with one open door and four seats. On the other side of the open door is a strange circle-shaped thing.
I bit my lips. It’s not that I don’t know anything about people… Since they came up with technology, I can’t help but watch them do boring things. I said yes because the question came out of nowhere.
Now, this guy’s bad attitude will make him think I’m a god of dumbasses.
‘Why am I surrounded by rude guys in the first place?’
“Here,” he said, putting his hands out to me. He looked at me as if I couldn’t say no, so I took it. “Sit down here.”
I sat down and was quiet.
Reach.
“This is… a safety belt… I’m not trying to take advantage of you, but this is for your safety.” He gave a reason. I nodded my head without thinking about it.
I got a whiff of his scent before he showed up in front of me. The sudden feeling that his scent gave me made my eyes widen.
“Why do you smell like stars, Jace?” He briefly looked at me. He didn’t answer me. Instead, he turned around and opened the door on his side.
Of course, the seat behind the wheel.
“It’s funny… When we met, he told me the same thing.” He said that when he’s settled down.
“There, you can smell how gods and goddesses smell.” I told him.
Since the stars and heavens are where we live, we should smell like them. It never occurred to me before that maybe the whole Riverside smelled like stars, but now the smell is only coming from one person.
But that is strange.
“I know… But I don’t know what you mean by the smell. And I couldn’t care less.” He ignored me again and turned on the car.
Before he hit the gas and sped away, the car made a quiet “brr” sound.
After that, I never spoke again… My whole body felt tired in a way that I hadn’t felt before.
Riverside’s occupants never slept… But maybe this is how earth magic works.
I shut my eyes… Ignoring the fact that the sun’s rays felt much, much, much colder outside.
