I Became My Son's First Love - Chapter 006
In truth, Eve felt a little let down when she first met Count Hound.
It wasn’t simply the Count who was nasty on the other.
Eve didn’t think Count Hound was especially attractive.
Unlike the Count, her point of view was based on expectations rather than taste.
Eve had great expectations for his appearance after being recognized as the most beautiful in the empire, surpassing all the gorgeous ladies.
Of course, Count Hound she really saw was incredibly attractive and appeared to be quite young for someone in his forties.
But he fell short of Eve’s expectations.
Eve, who had never left the Jenna estate, learned about the capital from her etiquette teacher or from gossip publications that arrived a month or two late.
When discussing the capital’s social circles, they lauded Count Hound’s beauty with dreamy faces.
In their stories, the professors, all middle-aged women, characterized the Count as an angel fallen from heaven, a noble being beyond grasp.
What about Count Hound, whom Eve met in person?
First and foremost, he was really attractive.
Though she had only seen him briefly, his figure appeared considerably stronger than that of the normal noble, and every action he did was graceful.
Eve, on the other hand, believed the appellation ‘the most beautiful in the empire’ was a bit of an exaggeration.
As a result, she concluded that individuals in the capital either preferred to exaggerate or had a weaker sense of beauty than she had assumed.
Today, Eve’s thoughts were shattered.
Azazel, her eldest son, whom she saw for the first time today in documentation, was as delicate and handsome as an angel in a laboriously painted masterpiece.
Count Hound led Eve to the dining room, where she discovered Azazel waiting for them.
When Eve first viewed Azazel’s profile, she believed he looked a lot like Count Hound.
But it wasn’t until she met Azazel’s gaze that she realized what her teachers were saying.
If the Count had looked like that when he was younger, he would have earned everyone’s admiration.
Eve had heard that Azazel looked exactly like the Count, but she had a little more surreal impression.
Azazel had slightly darker blonde hair than Count Hound, a sharp yet finely lined nose, big lips, and clear blue eyes.
Eve adored her own eyes, which reminded her of the evening sky at sunset, but Azazel’s eyes were equally lovely.
Azazel was more brilliant than Count Hound.
Perhaps it was the benefit of youth.
Azazel, on the other hand, lacked the vitality, freshness, innocence, and vigor typical of young men his age.
He appeared to be an old oak that had withstood many storms, standing tall and sturdy despite his age, wrapped in solitude and a subdued atmosphere.
Eve’s overall impression was as follows:
‘He appears to be an elderly man.’
He was clearly more attractive than Count Hound and easily drew attention to himself.
It occurred to her that Azazel might follow in the footsteps of his father, Count Hound, and be dubbed the most beautiful woman in the empire in social circles.
He lacked vitality, however.
As a result, his lovely face lost its vigor.
He was more than just handsome, yet he was not Eve’s type.
Eve finished her appraisal of Azazel in a flash and smiled at Count Hound.
“Would you introduce me, dear?”
Count Hound, who had been staring at Azazel, turned to Eve when she spoke.
When the Count met Eve’s gaze, he presented her to Azazel.
“This is Eve Hound, your mother. And this is Azazel Seratinio, my kid.”
Eve smiled and turned to face Azazel, who asked her with a strange look.
“Eve?”
“Madam, or you can call me Eve. What do you want me to call you, sir?”
Although the Count indicated it was right to address Azazel by his personal name, he was still the Seratin family heir.
It was difficult for her to simply address him by his first name, depending on the Count’s word alone.
Azazel did not respond to Eve’s query, instead staring at her.
His gaze was fixed and tenacious as if he was searching for or dissecting something.
Eve, unable to ignore his gaze, became aware of a flash in his eyes.
She blinked, but the flicker she had seen earlier had vanished.
‘Did I saw it incorrectly?’
As Eve returned her focus to Azazel, he seemed to avoid her gaze and turned to Count Hound, asking,
“Who introduced you?”
“What?”
Azazel replied to the Count’s query.
“I asked who introduced you.”
Eve was likewise intrigued by this question.
It would have been difficult to find Eve without someone introducing her.
What prompted the proposal?
The Jenna home was a simple abode that no one would notice unless they went looking for it.
Count Hound mumbled in amazement and answered, his eyes chilly, as if he doubted Azazel was his son.
“Your mother did.”
Eve was surprised.
It meant that Count Hound’s first wife, Countess Seratin, had campaigned for a woman to become his fourth wife.
‘I don’t comprehend the capital’s aristocrats’ senses.’
The emperor once persuaded a man who had been his granddaughter’s spouse to remarry, and the granddaughter found him a new bride.
Such things were entirely beyond Eve’s understanding.
‘The capital is truly different,’ Eve thought to herself, sticking out her tongue in secret.
Azazel, who had appeared indifferent, was also perplexed, and he let forth a hollow laugh.
Their gazes met when Eve turned her head toward the sound of laughter.
Azazel inquired,
“So, you became that man’s wife?”
His tone conveyed how ridiculous he thought the issue was.
Eve altered her initial perception of him as an old man.
For the first time, his face, unable to conceal his emotions, appeared to be his age.
She was able to manage Azazel’s reaction calmly since she had not anticipated him to be favorable about the Count and her marriage.

Hmm… the whole thing looks suspicious. Due to my experience of reading other kr novels, i wouldn’t be surprised if we find out later on that azazel already knew who eve was. Something happened in the past where their paths crossed and he fell in love with her os something. His mother probably knew about it and don’t want eve for azazel so she pushed for her to marry the count instead

Exactly and that’s why her every other proposals got cancelled. I feel sorry for Azazel.
