I'm Stuck on a Remote Island With the Male Leads - Chapter 166
Being a shrewd man, he probably provoked Rodvan on purpose.
“Have you forgotten that this is Langridge’s military camp?” Rodvan growled warningly at Arthdal, his face contorted into a fierce look.
Enoch, who had been observing the situation, spoke up, “In that case, you seem to have forgotten that I am here.”
Enoch’s eyes were calm and emotionless as he stared at Rodvan, but the stifling sense of authority he exuded was unmistakable.
Yuanna and Ruzef stood aside for a moment, watching the three princes arguing.
I wanted to take Kayden with me to the back, but he was asleep, his head on the table, completely oblivious to the world.
“Yeah, Enoch. My little brother. I can’t believe you’ve survived.”
Did he just say ‘I can’t believe you’ve survived’ instead of ‘I can’t believe you’re safe’?
It occurred to me that Rodvan might have had something to do with Enoch’s kidnapping.
“Do you realize how much I’ve had to do to fill the shoes you irresponsibly left behind? You don’t deserve the title of crown prince.”
Rodvan’s words were harsh. I remembered what Enoch had once said in his confession about his trauma.
“Even when I was a child, when I competed fiercely with my brothers, and when I lost my comrades on the battlefield, no one told me, ‘It’s okay, so stop’. Maybe I needed those words.”
All of Enoch’s brothers who were competing with him at the time are dead, as far as I know. People speculated that it was the doing of Rodvan’s forces, but there was no proof.
Moreover, it was all their plan to send Enoch away to fight in the Romalizan war. To get rid of him out of sight, naturally.
In the end, they were punished for trying to kill him because they felt inferior toward Enoch for coming back alive.
Rodvan was an incompetent, stupid, brainless crown prince, and it was only through the power of the Empress and the fact that he was a legitimate son that he was able to keep his position.
I calmly surveyed everyone, and my eyes locked with Kayden, who was leaning his arm on the table, watching the two men’s verbal sparring with fascination.
He must have fallen asleep with his head on the table…… when did he wake up?
Wait……
No way.
Our eyes met and Kayden smiled. Then he lifted his index finger and held it over his lips. As if to say, “Be quiet.”
That’s not Kayden, that’s Jenas.
“Which is why I’ve come back to take back the place my younger brother stole from me.”
Despite Rodvan’s harsh voice, Enoch remained unfazed, staring at him steadfastly. The stillness of his eyes was breathtakingly eerie.
Rodvan seemed to be intoxicated by his self-created illusion that he was lecturing Enoch.
“Enoch, I have prepared a gift for you.”
Rodvan glared at Enoch, then clapped his hands. Then the barracks’ curtains were drawn and the armed knights entered, carrying something. It looked like a person.
-thud. The knight lifted the man and threw him to the ground.
“Aahhh!”
Yuanna screamed, startled by the sight of the bloodied man on the floor.
“It’s a matter of dirty family business of the Langridge Imperial Family, so I’m asking for everyone else’s patience. Don’t worry, my brother is the only one I have business with.”
Rodvan glanced around and smirked, then turned his attention back to Enoch. His eyes narrowed, and I was sure he was scanning Enoch’s complexion as if making a calculation.
Rodvan must have known about Enoch’s ‘outburst’.
But as time passed and Enoch didn’t respond, Rodvan’s expression gradually lost its calmness.
“Are you…… not surprised?”
Rodvan looked at Enoch with the bewilderment of someone facing an unexpected difficulty.
“You’re not surprised?”
Rodvan leaned in close to Enoch and scrutinized his face. Enoch’s golden eyes scanned Rodvan nonchalantly.
“What- what the hell……? Aren’t you supposed to be going on a rampage?”
Rodvan stammered in confusion and looked back, and the knights who had accompanied him ducked their heads in unison to avoid his gaze.
Apparently, Rodvan wanted to create a picture of Enoch’s rampage and punish him in front of the key figures from each country. If Enoch went berserk, he could either subdue him and be hailed as a hero, or he could tell the world about it and unseat Enoch.
It might have been a successful plan, assuming he’d been able to get the information about Enoch’s secret–if only before Enoch had gotten over his trauma.
Enoch smirked and picked up his gloves from the table. “Are you done?”
“What?”
“I asked if that was all you had to say,” Enoch repeated, putting the gloves on his hands in a lazy motion.
His low voice carried a dangerous air. Despite the respect, there was a sense of contempt. Rodvan’s face contorted in humiliation.
“What the hell is going on? You! You’re not about to go berserk……?” Rodvan let out a shrieking cry
Enoch tilted his head to one side, looking at him mockingly. “Berserk? I don’t know what that means.”
As I watched with great interest, Arthdal whispered in my ear, “Watching a fight is always the most fun.”
It was a little annoying to have his face so close, but I agree with him. I wish I’d had popcorn. Since the opponent is Enoch, I am not worried about Rodvan’s plan at all.
I don’t know what Rodvan could have planned in the first place.
As he backpedaled, Rodvan looked at me, Arthdal, and the rest of us in confusion.
His face was bright red from being humiliated in front of us, who were not just anyone.
“For fxck’s sake! Surround him! That’s an order!”
A rush of armed knights burst into the barracks, their swords pointed not at Enoch but at Rodvan.
Rodvan cried out in surprise, “What- what are you doing? You’re supposed to be arresting that traitor, not me!”
The blades pointed at him did not budge in response to his outburst. Rodvan moved in panic, and then the tip of a sword pointed at him caught the back of his neck.
He screamed loudly and stumbled over the fallen man on the floor. Of course, I was more worried about the man on the ground than the fallen Rodvan.
Ruzef, who was standing behind me, whispered quietly in my ear, “Looks like he’s still breathing, I’ll take care of him when this is over.”
Yes, there is an archbishop and a saint here, no need to worry too much.
I looked at Rodvan on the floor and saw Enoch walking slowly toward him with a sympathetic look on his face.
Pointing to the knights who aimed their swords at Rodvan, Enoch asked, “Do you really think these men are yours? Do you really think this camp, the seat of the crown prince, and the Langridge Empire, are yours?”
Rodvan glanced to his left in disbelief. How embarrassing, how humiliating. I almost felt sorry for him.
“Most of the knights in this camp, or rather, most of the knights of the Langridge Empire, are my comrades-in-arms who have fought alongside me for years, my brother.”
Rodvan paled and gaped like a crucian carp, but then his expression twisted and he glared at Enoch. It was hilarious to see him squirming on the spot, unable to control his rising anger.
“I have heard the story of your status being reinstated as ‘temporary’. The Emperor said that he would only recognize you as an official prince again when you returned from this war victorious……”
Enoch looked down at Rodvan rather arrogantly, with the air of a teacher chastising an errant student.
“That’s too bad, the war is in negotiations to end as it is, and now that I’m back, the Empire doesn’t need you anymore.”
Enoch swept his hair back with a tired look. “I can’t believe you’re still this stupid. You’re in the presence of the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Hestia and the Saintess. What kind of disgrace do you think you’re doing?”
Wow. I’ve never seen Enoch criticize someone so blatantly and so harshly.
Rodvan’s face turned red as he looked back at us. White, then red, then very red.
“When I return to the Empire, I will reprimand you for your behavior today. With so many witnesses, do you have any objections?”
“I–!”
“I have heard that you instructed the knights to overpower and attack me, and there are those who will testify that you gave them instructions that it was okay to kill me in the process. So, brother, this time it will not end in exile. As soon as I return to the Empire, I will ask the Emperor for your disposition.”
Enoch nodded to the knights who pointed their swords at Rodvan. “Arrest him.”
“Don’t come near me! Don’t you think I’ll stand still? Damn it, you can’t do this! I’ve bothered to get to this dirty battlefield!”
Screaming and struggling, Rodvan suddenly crawled toward me. Of course, he couldn’t reach me. The knights pointed their swords at him. Rodvan looked up at me, very pitifully, and pleaded with me.
“Young Lady Floné, please take my hand.”
“Sorry? Why me?”
“The one who is to marry your older sister is me.”
I stared at him in disbelief. “Innis is the heir to the House of Floné. What’s the point of marrying a dethroned prince, not to mention not being able to be a princess or crown princess?”
“Pfft.”
It was then that Kayden–or rather, Jenas in Kayden’s body–who was sitting stiffly in a chair at the table burst out laughing.
Rodvan didn’t even bother to care about Jenas’ laughter and turned to me. “When I asked you to hold my hand, you should have done so!”
What do you mean, we’re basically strangers?
Rodvan rose from his seat to lunge at me.
Suddenly, a circular black shadow formed at his feet.
Jenas slowly rose from his seat, hands still in his pants pockets. He pressed his foot firmly into the floor, pushing it sideways, and the shadow at Rodvan’s feet followed suit. The shadow sent Rodvan sprawling to the floor.
“Who do you think you’re yelling at?”
Everyone looked back at Jenas.
He shrugged. “I made a promise to my descendant.”

I’m still mad and disgusted at Jenas but at the same time my heart still beat for him when he’s not lunatic and can think clearly…. gosh 😭 thanks for the chapter translator-nim 🫶🏻
