I'm Stuck on a Remote Island With the Male Leads - Chapter 194
Jenas has disappeared, and none of us know how to use magic, so we can’t track him down right away.
Damn Jenas!
The ground began to tremble as the magic stone in the Pope’s hand glowed.
A monster roar could be heard in the distance. It seemed that the barrier had been torn apart by Kayden’s disappearance.
The wizards of Magic Tower and the Imperial Army of Langridge stood by, ready for such an eventuality. In the distance, I could see knights and wizards moving toward the barrier.
If it weren’t for Jenas, this would have been a clean sweep of the Peony Blossom faction, but it was a troublesome situation.
Out of nowhere, a dozen knights in Paladin uniforms leapt out and blocked our path.
Enoch, who was holding the Pope down, dodged a sword swung at him, and the Pope, not missing the opportunity, stood up and backed away.
The magic stone in the Pope’s hand continued to glow. The Pope’s blue eyes flashed red as he looked at us, and then his vision blurred. It was clear that he was being mentally controlled by the magic stone.
“Jenas has left. I have fulfilled my purpose and have no further desire.”
The Pope chuckled and turned on his heel, ordering the paladins to attack, before turning around and hurrying away.
“You damn old man, stop!”
Chasing after the Pope, Yuanna raised her hands to the sky, and soon a huge beam of light poured down from the sky and attacked the Pope.
I don’t know what happened to the Pope. Both Yuanna and the Pope disappeared just as quickly. A flash of white light in the distance told me that they were fighting.
I couldn’t lose the Pope like this. I shared my mana with Eunji on my shoulder, then pulled the flare gun from my pocket, checked the bullet, loaded it, and jumped on top of her head.
Holding the flare gun, I turned to Enoch and said, “Get behind Enoch, I’ll help the Saintess capture the Pope.”
“Be careful.”
Enoch did not stop me now, which was understandable, since there seemed to be about fifteen paladins he was dealing with. Enoch should be fine.
I didn’t have long to think about it. Turning away from him, Eunji and I ran after the Pope and Yuanna, not forgetting to fire flares at the gathering monsters as we chased them.
-kwaah!
Eunji roared like a dragon and breathed fire at the monsters. The flames scorched the ground and raced dozens of meters away. This was a torrent of fire I had never seen before. It was as if it had evolved to the next level.
‘Is it because of the magic stones?’
With each magic stone she ate, Eunji’s power grew stronger and stronger. Eunji was particularly fond of magic stones, and every time she ate one, she would show off her energy as if she had taken a tonic.
Eunji burned through all of them, and we soon caught up with the Pope and Yuanna.
When the hell had they gotten here?
I loaded the flare gun and pulled the lever. Then I pointed it at the Pope’s back and pulled the trigger. I wanted to distract him.
-poof!
The sudden explosion from behind caused the Pope to turn around in surprise, while Eunji quickly approached him and opened her mouth wide.
However, just before she could swallow him whole, he unleashed his divine power with incredible quickness.
‘Damn it!’
-hwaahhhh!
A blindingly white light poured down on us, and the moment it hit us, we felt an agonizing pain that made it difficult to breathe for a moment.
Eunji also let out a scream of pain.
Aaaah!
“Eunji!”
I rolled off of Eunji’s body and fell to the ground as she struggled in pain.
Ack.
I think I broke my left arm when I fell from a considerable height and without warning. My ankle was sprained, and it hurt every time I moved it.
At this point, I’m glad it was my left arm and not my right. I could still shoot the flare, though.
I quickly ripped the hem of my dress and tied a knot, then slung it over my shoulder to hold my arm in place.
I gritted my teeth as the pain made it hard to move.
-hwaahhhh!
Then, as if the divine power had been unleashed once again, a pure white light emitted, and I looked up in surprise. Fortunately, it was the light from Yuanna’s attack on the Pope.
“Now back off!”
Yuanna fired a blast of divine power at the Pope, taking a step toward him. A gust of wind ruffled her brown hair. The look of madness on her face was eerie.
The Pope parried her attack with the same divine power. But Yuanna was young, the first saint to appear in a hundred years. It was clear that even the Pope was no match for her physically.
As the battle continued, he visibly grew weary.
“I’ve been waiting for this day to crush you with my own hands. You’re going to look so good!”
Yuanna’s witch-like laughter drifted through the air.
I quickly looked for Eunji, and found her shrunken and sobbing, her head hidden among the bushes.
“Eunji!”
I rushed over and checked her condition. There were no outward injuries from the divine power attack, so I wondered if she was internally injured. But she couldn’t seem to regain consciousness, only sobbing in agony.
What does Eunji know? This is my fault. My hands shook with guilt.
My thinking stopped and I couldn’t think of anything. As if she sensed my concern, Eunji raised her head and rubbed her head against my hand. As if to say, “It’s okay, don’t worry.”
I stroked her with a trembling hand, then steeled myself and loaded the flare gun. The orangutan monsters were swarming this way.
I hid Eunji in the bushes as she lay struggling.
I didn’t want them to get in the way of Yuanna’s dealings with the Pope. I was the only one who could cover her now.
I aimed my flare gun straight ahead and pulled the trigger.
-pow! pow!
I killed more and more monsters, but they kept coming in large numbers. My arm gradually lost feeling. My sprained ankle was becoming numb with pain.
I could see that the Pope and Yuanna were still unleashing a steady stream of divine power without getting far. They seemed to have been distracted by the sudden onslaught of monsters as they charged at each other.
As I struggled to load my flare gun with extra ammo, a shadow fell over my head. I looked up and saw an orangutan monster that was now right up to my nose.
Damn, is this déjà vu?
I remember being punched by an orangutan monster on the island and cracking my ribs.
The sight of the monster swinging its huge fist at me slowly unfolded in my vision like slow motion. With a broken left arm and a sprained ankle, I couldn’t move fast enough to avoid its fist.
I don’t even have time to load my flares.
Fxck.
That one kills you instantly. This time, it looked like it wasn’t going to end with broken ribs.
Damn it, I squeezed my eyes shut at the fist that was closing in.
“Dangerous, my filly!”
Just then, someone shoved me. A head of platinum-blonde hair flashed past my vision.
My father was sent flying by the orangutan monster’s massive fist, which came in full swing.
“Father!”
I limped toward him as he fell into the bushes in the distance. My mind went white. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
I loaded my flare gun and aimed it at the orangutan monster that had blown my father away.
-pow! bam!
The orangutan monster, hit by the flare, disappeared in the flames. More accurately, it was torn to pieces.
“Father.”
I struggled to my feet on shaky legs. I couldn’t believe all that had happened to me. Everything I held dear was falling apart, one by one.
For a long time, I searched for the bush from which my father had fallen, and soon I found him lying on the fallen leaves.
“Father!”
I covered my mouth in surprise at the sight of him, covered in blood.
“My filly.”
My father’s hand touched my cheek.
“I can’t lose you twice.”
He smiled wistfully, his face covered in blood. I shut my mouth for a moment, lost for words.
“I wish you would lean on your father instead of trying to carry a burden you can’t bear alone.”
What do you know? I have never shared the details of my experiences on the island with anyone, not even my family.
“Don’t you think I know you? You came back a different person.”
My heart sank. Seeing the look on my face, my father said to me in a soothing tone.
“But I’m still your father. That doesn’t change.”
Of course, he thought I’d changed, not that I’d been living in another dimension for so long. But now I realize that none of that matters.
I’m still my father’s daughter, as he said, and that doesn’t change.
I bit my lower lip hard and stood up.
“I’ll go get someone. I’ll get someone…….”
“This is fine.”
My father struggled to his feet. He wiped the blood from his face with the back of his hand, unconcerned, and drew the sword at his waist.
“Father, it’s dangerous, you’re hurt.”
“Trust your father.”
I nervously raised my flare gun, wondering if he was trying to deal with a monster, but he ran straight for the fleeing Pope. Yuanna was still struggling with the Pope.
The Pope fired a bolt of light that sharpened into a spear at my father as he ran towards me.
To my surprise, my father blocked it with his sword.
So I rubbed my eyes and looked again, and he was blocking the divine power with his sword. I’ve never seen anyone who could wield a sword like that other than Enoch.
I didn’t know that my father, a man of grace and elegance, could wield a sword like that. It’s such an unexpected sight that I am amazed.
Similarly, the Pope looked bewildered. The paladins he brought were all attacking Enoch, and he had no moves left.
While my father distracted the Pope, Yuanna struck again. The Pope again stretched out both hands to block both my father’s and Yuanna’s attacks.
“That’s enough, Your Holiness, give up now.”
My father swung his sword with a serene face, blocking the Pope’s divine power. A flicker of bewilderment crossed the Pope’s face, but only for a moment.
He gritted his teeth and shouted, “Do you think I’m going to back down?”
With that, the Pope raised the magic stone he was holding to the sky. The magic stone, which had been emitting light, began to glow even more intensely than before.
-koooooo!
The surrounding monsters began to rush over here.
Shit!
I loaded the flares again. I was the only one who could deal with the monsters now.
