I'm Stuck on a Remote Island With the Male Leads - Chapter 206
[Surprised? Ha……. I’m finally feeling up to it.]
Kayden let out a dry laugh.
It was hard enough to breathe. But at this point, it was a miracle that Kayden was keeping his sanity and not falling into suspended animation.
Now Jenas is binding Kayden with the initiation spell, and Kayden is binding Jenas with the soul-binding contract. They’re binding each other.
Jenas froze in place as he felt his earrings burning hot.
[Do you know why I’ve been wearing those damn earrings?]
He could have used the contract to his advantage, but Kayden didn’t.
He needed a chance. He had been waiting for the moment when Jenas was caught off guard, when he could take him down with a single blow.
[When you took over my body, I also tried to control you.]
“You think that’s possible? These are earrings I made, my descendant,” Jenas said in disbelief.
It was true that the earrings contained Jenas’s mana, and it was true that when he used the initiation spell to subdue Kayden, that mana came into play.
However, the earrings were not only used for that, but also to help the mana inside Kayden’s body to be smoothly purified.
Although Jenas is the one who made them, Kayden is the one who wears and uses them.
This means that Kayden, as the ‘master’ of his body, knows better than anyone else how to use the earrings to read the flow of mana and how to adjust its movement to fit his body.
Kayden has gathered all the scattered mana within his body and united it.
[You wouldn’t know because you haven’t had a proper body in a millennium. I know my body better.]
If too much mana builds up in his body, it will burst because his physique can’t handle it, so when the mana builds up instead of flowing, the earrings, sensing danger, automatically go out of control to calm it down.
At this point, the earrings cannot be activated arbitrarily. In other words, Jenas would no longer be able to control Kayden by reciting the initiation spell.
Kayden could feel the massive mass of mana fluctuate and shake. The pressure from the outside–the power of the earrings–was trying desperately to break it apart.
He couldn’t help but smile at the sensation.
Kayden said,
[This is your grave, bastard.]

The explosion destroyed much of the island, but quite a few monsters survived.
We stood in a circle, gasping for breath, our backs to each other.
I pulled spare bullets from my pocket and stuffed them into the magazine. I could have used magic bullets, but I had to save my mana just in case.
After loading the flare gun, I pulled the lever down. I aimed it at the mass of helpless monsters and pulled the trigger.
-piyung!
Red smoke billowed out from amongst the strange shapes of the charging monsters.
-pop! pow!
The monsters’ bodies exploded into pieces. I wrinkled my nose at the stench, then turned and aimed at the next target and pulled the trigger.
In the distance, I could see the hulking figure of Eunji devouring a monster.
Beside him, Enoch swung his sword wildly, and as he slammed it into the dirt, an electric current wrapped around it ran through the ground, instantly annihilating a dozen or so of the monsters that had rushed toward him.
With Enoch and Eunji working in tandem, it seemed that the slaughter of the monsters would be over soon.
Yuanna swung her axe and smashed the head of a fish monster that was running toward me.
I kicked the oddly shaped monster running toward her empty side, then fired a flare at it.
-pop! pow!
After watching the monster explode into pieces, I turned to her. “Why did you use an axe instead of your divine power?”
“To relieve stress.”
With that answer, Yuanna slammed her axe down on the head of the charging monster and kicked it in the head. It’s fierce.
“I thought we could live in peace once we got off the island.”
At my muttering, Yuanna swung the axe again, then turned to face me again and laughed.
“I had the same dream, but the reality is still hell.”
We gave a short, sigh-like laugh, then moved once more.
“Looks like the ones coming from that direction are the last of them!”
Arthdal, protected by the knights of Langridge, reported to us as he caught the flow of mana swirling around him.
“Behind you, Banhwang! Oh, how easily distracted. Saintess, look ahead!”
It was a bit noisy, but Arthdal’s ability to read the flow of mana was a great help to the group, and we couldn’t tell him to be quiet.
It didn’t take long to subdue the monsters. Since we were able to use mana and divine power, we didn’t struggle against the monsters as much as we had in the past.
There weren’t many monsters left alive, and the ones that were left looked weak as if they hadn’t eaten in a while.
As the mana began to dwindle and the end was in sight, Yuanna looked up at the sky. The sun was setting.
“It’s time to start the real ‘purification’ work. I don’t know what Lord Kayden has planned, but I can’t wait any longer.”
-kuuuuung!!
No sooner had she finished speaking than a huge boom rang out from the direction of the Northeast Island. The ground shook all the way to where we were.
I looked up to see dark clouds gathering in the sky.
Ominous. It was a similar pattern to the one I saw yesterday at my birthday party, when the Peony Blossoms used the magic stones.
“Is that Jenas?”
Arthdal stood up and looked in the direction of the Northeast Island with a puzzled face.
-kuuuung!
Another loud boom sounded, and with a whoosh, the birds flew high into the sky. I looked up to follow their movements.
Something soared into view. The fluttering blue robe of a wizard caught my eye even from a distance.
An eerie bolt of lightning struck behind the man in the sky.
Ugh. I clutched my throbbing head against the headache that came with the lightning.
The man who had leapt so high into the sky was slowly descending toward us in a graceful trajectory.
“Is that Jenas or Kayden?” Arthdal murmured, watching the man descending toward us with a puzzled expression on his face.
Enoch, who had just finished slashing the last of the monsters to pieces, stepped in front of me, his sword drawn, wary of the man descending from the sky.
“Margaret, be careful.”
The man landed in front of us as Enoch finished speaking. He wiped the blood from his lips with a rough hand and raised his head.
His ruby eyes, like jewels, stare directly into mine.
He’s not Jenas. He’s Kayden.
“Margaret.”
Blood was trickling from his nose.
“Kayden, you have a nosebleed.”
Kayden frowned at my words, running his fingers along the bridge of his nose. Arthdal, the only one of us to carry a handkerchief, handed it to Kayden.
Kayden’s movements as he reached for the handkerchief were very stiff. His hands were shaking as if he was having trouble controlling his body.
He took the handkerchief with difficulty and covered his nose with it, then looked up at me and said, “Right now, I’m subduing Jenas, but I came here to ask you a favor. There’s the Crown Prince and the Saintess here, I think I can trust you.”
“What are you talking about?”
I looked at Kayden, who was making ominous remarks. Kayden handed the handkerchief covering his nose back to Arthdal and cupped both of my cheeks.
“If I fail to subdue that bastard, just kill me.”
“What……? Are you crazy? No way.”
“I’m trying my best, but it’s not easy. Ugh…….”
Kayden coughed up blood again as he spoke and took three or four steps away from me, glancing at Enoch, who was holding his sword in a wary manner.
“Take care of Margaret.”
“Don’t worry about that, just take care of yourself.”
No sooner had Enoch finished speaking than grayish smoke emanated from Kayden’s body. The smoke, which had a yellow current, soon turned into a powerful vortex that wrapped around his body and engulfed him in an instant.
“Kayden!”
For a moment, Kayden’s face was barely visible through the smoke, but he was quickly pulled back into it.
Kayden’s face repeatedly appeared and disappeared through the smoke. It seemed like he was struggling with the Jenas inside his body.
We could only watch in suspense.
-thud!
Finally, Kayden was thrown out of the smoke. The bounces and scrapes left deep gouges in his body.
He collapsed and struggled to his feet. Our eyes locked as he raised his head, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth roughly with the back of his hand.
Eyes that burned like a blazing fire.
Those belonged to Jenas.
We all stared at him tensely. Yuanna stood waiting with her arms outstretched, as if she were about to use her purification power at any moment.
Jenas muttered, “My descendant. I can’t go on like this, a thousand years of injustice.”
At the same time, a blue spark burst from Jenas’s earring. Behind him, gray smoke enveloped his body once more, and he was thrown to the ground once again, his body rolling in a whirling vortex.
“Just fuck off.”
This time it was Kayden who spoke.
We all stared at the scene in confusion. Two souls were fighting inside Kayden’s body.
But this fight will end at some point, and I believe Kayden will win.
Then it’s my turn to step up.
I opened the flare’s magazine, unloaded the bullets, and put them into my pocket. Then I closed the magazine and aimed the flare gun at Jenas and Kayden, who were having an internal battle.
“She was the only one on Alea Island who could use mana. The system Anata devised for the island didn’t work for Margaret. It’s possible that my purification power doesn’t work on Margaret.”
Just like what Yuanna had said, my mana was different from others because I had been beyond the dimension.
In addition, I resonate with Eunji since he imprinted on me. His evolution seemed to affect my mana as well.
Furthermore, as I realized when I attacked the Pope, my mana released by using Asthdal’s ring could attack opponents in a wider range than I had expected.
For example, if I hit Kayden with enough mana to envelope his entire body, I would be able to deal a blow to Jenas even if he was a soul as small as a grain of sand.
I remember that when we escaped the island in the past, the mother of monsters shot a bolt of lightning at Kayden. Kayden’s body was unaffected, but it struck only Jenas.
I’ll try to use the same method.
It was for this reason that I asked Kayden to break the soul-binding contract.
The moment Kayden breaks the soul-binding contract, I’ll fire a mana bullet into Jenas’s soul.
I aimed the flare at the man I couldn’t tell if it was Kayden or Jenas and focused all my attention on him.
The very moment Kayden takes control of his body,
‘I’ll put an end to it.’
For once, perfectly.
