Summary
“His Highness Karl has commanded you to end your life. It would be better for you to die than live like this.”
Aura, the princess of Xenia, was politically married off to Karl, the Casa Empire’s abandoned prince. They thought they truly loved each other, but one morning, she discovers her entire family dead and receives a request from her husband to die.
Fueled by revenge, she endures three years in a tower, living in a subhuman state. Her husband Karl returns as emperor.
“Make yourself Empress, Aura. Since I saved you, you owe me something back.”
Driven by rage, she decides to become Empress and exact her retribution. She intends to hurt Karl, detest him, and exploit him in any way she can.
However, Aura recognizes the contradiction in her feelings: she is pulled to Karl, the man she despises. She wants to possess him.
