I'm Stuck on a Remote Island With the Male Leads - Chapter 184
“This is a gift.”
A gift? With a questioning look on my face, I took the pouch from Kayden, inspected the contents, and then looked up at his face again in surprise.
“How did you get this……!”
Kayden scratched his cheek and made a cool face. “Jenas re-created it in my lab.”
In the pouch was a flare bullet. The bullet itself had been modified by Jenas himself, so I figured he might be able to recreate it.
I examined the bullet carefully, and suddenly, I was skeptical about why I was so happy to have a new bullet. I’m not going to be a monster hunter, so why am I looking at bullets and liking them?
“But will I ever need to use it? We’re not on Alea Island.”
“Well. You never know. You can keep it until this is all over.”
“Hmm. Looks like you have Jenas under your control now.”
After watching the situation unfold, Enoch turned to Kayden. Kayden looked at Enoch and me like he had a lot to say.
“That’s because that bastard……” He trailed off and ran a hand through his hair. “Forget it. It doesn’t matter. Now go.”
And then, unlike him, he shooed me and Enoch away.
“Huh? Huh. Oh, thanks for this. I’ll put it to good use.”
Kayden smiled brightly at my thanks and waved me off.
I can’t help but wonder what Kayden was going to say at the end.

Jenas groaned in agony. He couldn’t even move his hand.
Being stamped by a hot seal was nothing compared to the pain of having my soul shredded. Not a day goes by that I don’t wonder how I ended up in this humiliating and miserable situation.
‘Who could it be? Damn Margaret.’
Margaret, Margaret. Dozens of times a day, I thought of that annoying name.
If only I hadn’t brought her in when she was stranded in the river near the cabin, if only I hadn’t paid attention to her, things wouldn’t have gotten to this point.
I’m almost tempted to erase her from my memory. Now is not the time for such thoughts.
He regained his composure and said to Kayden:
[If it were me, I’d torture the Archbishop to death. No one would ever know anyway.]
Kayden, who stood at the window looking up at the rainy sky, showed no reaction to Jenas’ words.
[My descendant, I’ll kill that Archbishop for you.]
“Shut up.”
[Those idiots, they don’t even understand the matter, and they dare to try their hand at my feats without me, when they’re nothing without me.]
This is what Jenas has been saying ever since he heard that Peony Blossoms wanted to resume the experiment.
Kayden knows that Jenas’s arrogance stems from his genius and great power. Even Kayden, who grew up being called a genius, is no match for Jenas.
[Pathetic bastards. They don’t know what’s really scary.]
“What’s really scary?”
[I’m only helping you because of the restrictions, don’t think I care about you beyond that, my descendant.]
Jenas was reluctant to answer that. However, the end of the conversation was rather uncomfortable for Kayden.
It reminded him of Margaret’s grumbling in the past. Jenas often stopped in the middle and seemed like he was going to say something, but then he didn’t say anything important.
Jenas never said anything more in the end.
Kayden wasn’t worried about the Peony Blossom faction’s machinations or their plans. As Jenas said, they are a pathetically stupid bunch.
-rumbles, boom.
Outside the window, a massive crack of thunder accompanied by a seven-pronged bolt of lightning struck, and Kayden pondered as he watched the scene.
Is it just me? These strange bolts of lightning seem to keep coming lately.

The Archbishop was still sealed in the tower, and presumably, he would remain so until the whole thing was over.
I was also told that he would be given minimal water, just enough to keep him alive. It was not unlike the way they treated prisoners in prison.
My birthday was about a month away, and Kayden and Enoch agreed to visit the Floné estate in four days. It was to set up a barrier in preparation for an attack by the Peony Blossom faction.
The party was to be held at the Floné estate, not in the capital city of Burneton. It was the end of the social season in the capital and we needed to get back to the estate, and my mother and father insisted that we could have a bigger party at the Floné Castle.
So we’re leaving Burneton tomorrow, and tonight is our last night in the capital’s mansion.
I sat back on the couch in my room and opened a package that had been sent to me.
It was from Yuanna, and as I untied the string and tore off the wrapping paper, I saw a small box wrapped tightly inside.
Even without opening it, I intuitively knew what it was. It was probably the magic stone she’d gotten. I carefully unwrapped the package and opened the box, and sure enough, there were two magic stones inside.
And I found a small note enclosed in the package.
[I thought it would be best to send the magic stones as soon as possible, so I sent them first. The package is sealed with a magic seal and tracked, so don’t worry.]
She’s right, it’s better to find and destroy it as soon as possible. So I decided to feed it to Eunji right away. Eunji slithered over to my feet with a curious look on her face.
For a moment, I wondered if there was really anything wrong with feeding her magic stones.
She doesn’t speak, so maybe she’s in pain and can’t speak?
From her expression, I don’t think so, but she swallowed one a few days ago. I didn’t want to overdose her, so I decided to keep it for a while.
I flopped down on the couch, still holding the magic stone. I’m tired.
Innis told me that a lot of letters had arrived, asking for invitations to my birthday party.
‘Well, I guess that’s because I’m the subject of a big story in the daily newspaper.’
I could understand their curiosity. The knights who had returned from the battlefield together had spread the rumor that Eunji was a divine beast, and of course Noel and Heisen were the biggest contributors.
Not only that, but everyone seemed to be very curious about the changed relationship between me, Enoch, and Kayden.
-hiss.
While I was lost in my thoughts, I heard Eunji hiss. I glanced down to see Eunji on the carpet in front of the couch, looking up at me.
I couldn’t help but pet her as she tilted her head and acted so cute. I got off the couch and gently stroked her head, and she responded by flicking out her tongue and closing her eyes. How cute.
-grrr.
Suddenly, Eunji bared her teeth sharply. I stared at her with a puzzled look on my face, then followed her gaze and jumped up in surprise.
A familiar figure sat on the windowsill.
“Margaret.”
That heavy voice was Kayden’s, but he wasn’t Kayden.
They shared the same body, but it felt so different when Jenas used it.
The gentleman sitting at an angle on the window sill, smiling slowly, was eerie. Not because I recognized him as Jenas, but because his eyes weren’t smiling.
“What are you doing here?”
I don’t know why he keeps coming back to me like this, not that I’m doing anything to him.
I quickly scooped Eunji up, slung her over my shoulder, and stepped back, wary of him. But Jenas didn’t move, just sat there and stared at me.
“I’ve been wondering.”
The candle on a nearby nightstand flickered, casting a shadow across Jenas’s face.
The red eyes staring back at me looked like a sunset in the darkness. They were as red as the sun setting, serene and hot.
Kayden’s eyes were gorgeous, sparkling, and always shining like jewels, but they didn’t hold that color. It was strange to see them so different even though they shared a body.
“I wonder if you’ll ruin everything again.”
But Jenas’s next words jolted me awake as if I’d been splashed with cold water.
“What do you mean?”
What do you mean ‘again’?
He swept his hair over his forehead in a languid motion. I was strangely aware of his exposed neckline and the slow, masculine movement of his Adam’s apple.
The vibe was off. Why was he giving off such a vibe today?
“When I first brought you to Alea Island, you were clearly an unremarkable test subject, but then……”
Mixed emotions flashed across Jenas’ face as he looked at me. He seemed to be confused himself.
“Annoying. Margaret, you bother me.”
“……”
“So, don’t do anything, and please, just be quiet, because if you keep doing things like that, even you won’t be able to stop me.”
I wonder what he’s going to do if I can’t keep quiet, but there’s nothing he can do about it anyway.
He says I’m bothering him, but it’s clearly interest. He was constantly expressing interest in me. Maybe it’s because I’m a soul from another dimension.
“I don’t care about your feelings. I only care about Kayden and his safety, who will be hurt because of you.”
At my words, Jenas’s eyes flashed fiercely. For a moment, I thought he looked hurt, but it was so fleeting that I wasn’t even sure I saw it.
Then, Jenas slid down from the window sill, and in one swift motion, he reached me and leaned in. His face is instantly closer.
-grrr.
Eunji, whose chin rested on my shoulder, was on edge, wary, but Jenas didn’t seem to mind, lifting my chin with his finger. His red eyes came into view.
He stared into my eyes. I was frozen in place for a moment, as if in chains, even though he hadn’t used any magic.
“Why are you being so mean, only to me?” he whispered in a husky voice.
The words sounded like a plea. But I felt a flash of anger at his words.
Just because Jenas was bound and trapped inside Kayden’s body didn’t mean my anger toward him had dissipated.
He was the one responsible for all of this, the one who kidnapped me to that crazy island without me knowing why, left me frustrated with the constant threat of death, confused about my identity for having two souls, and unable to find peace even after I escaped.
All those dark and difficult feelings I’ve been going through are just quietly sinking below the surface, but they haven’t gone away.
Now that I’ve found my family and I feel like I can easily defeat the Peony Blossom faction, you may wonder if I’m okay, but no, I’m not.
What happened on the island will remain deeply traumatizing for the rest of my life. It’s a scar that nothing will ever be able to erase.
“Think about what you’ve done. I am horrified that you are even alive and breathing, parasitizing on Kayden’s body. If I had the power, I would have killed you with my own hands, but it’s too bad I couldn’t.”
“How mean. Are you trying to get me to reflect on the past? No, I’m not reflecting.”
“I knew it. It’s a sin for a scumbag like you to be alive.”
Jenas laughed out loud at my words. It gives me the creeps that he laughs at such an insult. He really is a crazy bastard.
“Don’t expect too much from the Peony Blossom kids. I’m the one who created them. I’ve been the best in the world for a thousand years, and I’m still the best.”
And what does he believe in that makes him so confident? There’s clearly nothing he can do now.
Yessesfy
Jenas es un idiota, si, digan lo que quieran, pero realmente me está empezando a gustar
